FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Insurance and Costs

Q: Do you take my insurance?

A: I don't work directly with any insurance panels. I can provide monthly superbills for reimbursement if you have out-of-network benefits. Check with your insurance provider to see if that's something your plan covers.

Q: How much does therapy cost?

A: Individual sessions (including OCD/ERP+EMDR work) are $175. Couples and Family sessions are $200.

Q: Do you offer a free consultation so I can ask questions and get to know you?

A: Yes, I offer a free 20-minute phone or video consultation before we get started, no pressure, just a chance to share what's going on and see if we're a good fit.

My Approach

Q: What is your approach to OCD treatment?

A: The problem isn't the person, it's the pattern. I use ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention), the gold-standard treatment for OCD, to help you face a feared thought or situation while resisting the ritual or compulsion, so your nervous system learns the anxiety drops on its own. That's the core treatment for OCD itself, including Relationship OCD, contamination OCD, and intrusive thoughts. When trauma is part of what's underneath the OCD, I also use EMDR to reprocess that root trauma, since old, unprocessed experiences can be part of what feeds the compulsive cycle. EMDR isn't used to treat the intrusive thoughts directly, it's there for the trauma underneath, when trauma is present.

Q: What is your approach to parental and family therapy?

A: I get curious about the pattern the whole family is stuck in, not just the child's behavior in isolation. A lot of the biggest "aha" moments happen with parents, because a child's behavior is communication, and the system around them usually needs support more than the child needs "fixing." We'll figure out together what's really going on and find a path back to more peace at home.

Q: How do I know what approach is right for me?

A: We take time getting to know each other and what you're already bringing to the table before diving into deeper work. Once we're clear on what's going on and what you want out of therapy, we decide together whether ERP, EMDR, family-focused sessions, or some mix is the right fit, and you're part of that decision the whole way.

Q: What can I expect working with you?

A: Nonjudgmental, warm, and completely collaborative, shame doesn't get a seat at the table here. You can expect genuine curiosity, real support (not deep-end throws), and room for both warmth and honesty as we work through what's underneath the pattern.

Q: Can I do OCD or family therapy virtually?

A: Yes, sessions are held online so you can meet from wherever works best for you.

Getting Started & Logistics

Q: Do you see clients in person?

A: Sessions are currently online only.

Q: How long will I be in therapy?

A: It depends on your specific goals. ERP is designed to show measurable symptom decrease within the first several weeks, and I recommend starting with weekly sessions so we can build a timeline together as we go.
